The company said the test proved the successful development and integration of an intelligent airdrop system for precise, uncrewed cargo delivery.
On May 7th, SA750U, a large unmanned transport aircraft independently developed by Shanhe Huayu Aviation Technology with strategic collaboration from Shanhe Xinghang, successfully completed the country's first continuous autonomous parachute airdrop test of multiple cargo items by a drone. This breakthrough marks an important milestone in the development of large unmanned transport aircraft in China, providing critical technical support for rapid and bulk unmanned material delivery in special scenarios.
During this flight test, the aircraft carried 1,500 kilograms of airdrop items and flew over the preset airdrop area. It then autonomously executed a series of airdrop commands, with multiple cargo items successfully exiting the aircraft cabin in sequence. Parachutes deployed one after another, ensuring the cargo accurately drifted to the predetermined locations. Throughout the airdrop process, the aircraft maintained a stable attitude, marking the successful completion of the flight test.
The successful testing of the SA750U drone's intelligent airdrop system demonstrates that Shanhe Huayu has fully independently mastered a series of key technologies, including the drone airdrop system and intelligent airdrop control. Moving forward, Shanhe Huayu will promptly complete airdrop verification flights for more cargo platforms and greater loading capacities based on customer demands. The aircraft will soon be deployed for practical applications such as unmanned material delivery, emergency rescue, and regional aviation logistics.
According to reports, after completing its maiden flight on August 22nd, 2024, the SA750U large unmanned transport aircraft underwent dozens of sorties and multiple subject flight tests within a three-month period. Subsequently, within just four months, Shanhe Huayu independently completed the development of the drone's intelligent airdrop system. The SA750U large unmanned transport aircraft is the result of the research and development team's in-depth market research, demand-driven approach, and fully independent design using domestic systems and materials. The aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 7,500 kilograms, a maximum payload of 3,200 kilograms, and a maximum range of 2,200 kilometers.
