
On June 12, GAC Group globally premiered its first mass-production flying car, the GOVE AirCab, and officially opened pre-orders. The official guide price is no more than RMB 1.68 million per unit ($244,000 per unit).
The GOVE AirCab is GAC's first mass-produced autonomous multi-rotor flying car, capable of carrying 2 people. Its primary application scenario is cultural and tourism travel oriented towards low-altitude sightseeing. The GOVE AirCab has a range of 30 kilometers, supports 25-minute fast charging for efficient battery energy replenishment; employs a multiple redundancy design to ensure stable operation under harsh operating conditions in aspects such as power, energy, flight control, and communications; is equipped with 5G network connectivity within the cabin, supporting intelligent route autopilot capabilities, enabling passengers to initiate journeys with a single click for low-altitude travel and sightseeing; additionally, the product's autonomous driving hardware platform has computing power >500 TOPS, features long-range intelligent low-altitude obstacle detection, can accurately identify multiple objects, ensuring flight safety; extensively utilizes aerospace-grade carbon fiber composite materials throughout the aircraft, with a carbon fiber usage rate exceeding 90% in the fuselage structure, reducing weight by over 30%.
According to reports, GAC plans to explore the "ground-air intermodal transport" model by the end of this year and expects to complete airworthiness certification by the end of 2026 and commence mass production delivery.
