Recently, Vertaxi Aviation Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Vertaxi") has completed its Pre-B+ round of financing. Vertaxi was established in 2021 as an innovative urban air mobility enterprise and one of China’s leading eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) integrated aircraft manufacturers. Vertaxi implements a development strategy that progresses from small and medium-sized eVTOLs to large cargo eVTOLs, and then to passenger-carrying eVTOLs, gradually advancing the commercialization of cargo and passenger transportation. The company is committed to building highly safe, cost-effective, green, and intelligent eVTOL aircraft, with the vision of "air mobility accessible to everyone," providing solutions for future urban three-dimensional air transportation. Vertaxi has established multiple R&D, manufacturing, and test flight bases in Shanghai and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. To date, the company has raised over RMB 400 million in cumulative financing, including a RMB 200 million Pre-B round completed in September 2024.

Its M1 aircraft adopts a composite-wing configuration with a wingspan of 15 meters, a fuselage length of 10 meters, and 20 rotors (4 forward-pulling rotors and 16 vertical-lift rotors) to ensure sufficient safety redundancy. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 2.5 tons, can carry 5 passengers, offers a single-charge range of 250 kilometers, achieves a cruising speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and enables fully autonomous unmanned flight.

In January 2024, Vertaxi’s self-developed M1B model (i.e., the M1 cargo variant) unmanned eVTOL aircraft officially had its Type Certificate application accepted by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) East China Regional Administration. The company expects to complete the M1B airworthiness certification process by 2025. Concurrently, airworthiness certification applications for passenger-carrying models are underway, with approval anticipated between 2027 and 2028.
