
On May 8, eVTOL developer and manufacturer Volant announced the signing of strategic cooperation agreements with Bank of China Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (BOC Financial Leasing) and Bank of China Shanghai Branch. Under the agreements, BOC Financial Leasing will establish a long-term strategic partnership with Volant and plans to purchase 100 units of the VE25 eVTOL aircraft. Meanwhile, Bank of China will leverage its strengths in financing, credit services, fund settlement, and cash management to collaborate with Volant, providing the company with a comprehensive credit line of no less than RMB 1 billion.
Founded in June 2021, Volant is a high-tech company dedicated to the research, design, and manufacturing of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The company focuses on developing advanced commercial passenger-grade eVTOL technology. Its flagship product, the VE25-100 model, has already secured nearly 1,000 letters of intent for orders, with total contract values reaching billions of RMB.
The VE25-100 eVTOL features a compound-wing configuration and can carry one pilot and five passengers. With a cruising speed of 235 km/h and a range of 200 km to 400 km, the aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 2.5 tons. It is currently recognized as the world’s largest and most spacious manned eVTOL in terms of takeoff weight and cabin space.
